Superintendent Aaron Williams Sr.

    Pastor Aaron Williams Sr. was born January 3, 1934 in Andalusia, Alabama to the late Rev. Henry & Eva Mae Williams. He received his formal education in the Covington County Training School in Andalusia. At age six (6) years old he began preaching to the children around him. At age thirteen (13) he joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Rome, Alabama under the pastorage of his father, Rev. John Henry Williams and was baptized. Every since that day he has been faithful to the church. On February 26, 1958 he was baptized with the Holy Ghost in the Diamond Street Church of God in Christ, Mansfield, Ohio.

    The first Sunday in October 1960, he preached his first sermon as his official call to the ministry. In 1963 the Lord led Elder Williams to move to East Orange New, Jersey. He entered Manhattan Bible School where he received a Bachelors Degree in Theology. In 1971 Pastor Williams began the Community Christian Fellowship in his home. This fellowship was later named The Bible Way Church of God in Christ. Pastor Williams moved this ministry into a beautiful edifice, debt free. Pastor Williams served this congregation for 33 years. On December 8, 1978, Pastor Williams was called to pastor the Temple of Faith Church of God in Christ in Mansfield, Ohio. During these twenty - seven (27) years he has moved the congregation twice, culminating with this beautiful 1.5 million dollar edifice.

    Pastor Williams and his wife, Betty L. Duncan Williams celebrated fifty (52) years of marriage December 25, 2005. They have two (2) children; Janet Leigh Watch and Aaron Jr., daughter-in-law LaTonda Williams; four (4) grandchildren; Victor G. Watch II, Jonquille B. Watch, Christa N. Williams, Jacinta R. Williams and Erin Williams.

Mother Betty Williams

    Betty Lou Duncan is now the soul survivor of the children of Malcolm John & Annie Mae Duncan. She was born on March 23, 1934 and is the survivor of a set of twins.

    Betty's childhood was spent in Mansfield, Ohio. She attened the Mansfield city schools, of which she is a retired school teacher. Betty was also blessed to attended the Church of God in Christ school in Lexington, Mississippi. During this time she traveled with the Saints School Choir all over the state of Mississippi, Tennessee, and Louisiana. She was able to have the opportunity, at the age of fourteen (14) to perform at the Church of God in Christ International Holy Convocation in Memphis, Tennessee. Betty is life long member of the Church of God in Christ. She was saved and filled with the precious Holy Ghost at the tender age of eight (8). She taught her first bible lesson in the prayer band at age ten (10). Betty was very active with her mother, Annie Mae Duncan and two of her sisters Janis Todd and Hannah Hilliard. They all were instrumental in the early years of what is now the Maddox Memorial Church of God in Christ.

    At the age of eighteen (18) a young man by the name of Aaron stole her heart and one year later took her hand in marriage. They were married by the late Pastor L.G. Maddox in his home on Christmas day in 1953. The couple was called by God to birth a ministry in East Orange, New Jersey called The Bible Way Church of God in Christ. After a season, the Lord called them back to Mansfield where they have served faithfully at the Maddox Memorial Church of God in Christ.
